This is why China is really the largest economy in the world and will be the largest economy in the foreseeable future. China has the energy to build the world, and it'll grow larger as the world become more prosperous because no one has the infrastructure to support the world's growth beside China. This is what we should have done after we won the Cold War. Instead Reaganomics and cheap labor economic favor endless wars and the financialization of the economy. We don't have the infrastructures to compete with China, and we end up with Trump and his disastrous economic policies.

And there is the transformers problem if the US wants to expand on its grid:

>>The United States will soon need to replace over 30 million power transformers on existing power grids, while somehow meeting the enormous new power demand from factories and AI data centers.

Under US law, all the new components and materials used by electric utilities must be build in the United States.

Wait times for new transformers and switches are now over three years, and costs are rocketing higher.
