Terrible take, almost really good and definitely right that China is natural dominant source of data center demand in Asia. But this is just totally incorrect numerically. US data center investment dollars, operational capacity, and under construction capacity are all 10x the China equivalent. They’re building way faster than the Chinese at the moment, and that’s a publicly available fact.

Yes but experts also said this about the data center overbuild in US post covid, US has just already filled their overbuild. The big picture is that US is going to be a larger fraction of global data center supply in 2030 than they were in 2020, although it is true that China will also be a larger fraction of global supply. Also, it spends way too much time on energy concerns which do matter for Korea/Japan but really don’t apply for US and not nearly enough on chip supplies
