Dear Friends and Readers,
I am deeply moved by the dozens of generous subscribers, who have pledged financial support to our newsletter project.
Many of the pieces posted here on our Substack are video transcripts from our YouTube channel, or supplementary notes. Our videos are widely downloaded and used on other media platforms, and by universities and high schools, and we wanted to offer an online reference for educators and other creators to easily locate other sources and and links.
It is my hope that these materials would be offered to users, anywhere, free of charge.
So to those of you who have so generously offered support, I invite you, instead, to give instead to a charity who is devoted to service to the poor. Whether to a local group meeting the needs of people in your own community, or to a church or mission in the developing world—the needs are great, and you can make a huge difference in their lives.
To whomever you give, ask them to pray for you and your family, and to pray for me and mine.
Thank you.
Kevin
Kevin, there’s hardly a video from the last two years I have never forwarded. Your work has successfully bridged a gap in public discourse that screamed for concise empirical takes on very consequential current affairs. Your special gift seems to be that you make your points without having to “argue” with anyone directly.
So, thank you.
Kevin
I am a Bible believing and Bible studying Christian. You are doing good work here. I think it is important that the world understands China does not aspire to become a unipolar hegemon, forcing itself on the rest of the world. Misguided policies by the West are potentially dangerous. By providing insight about what is really going on in China (bolstering trade, industrial activity, technological advancement, reducing poverty in their own country, etc.), may help overcome Western deception, especially from the media. I have already been praying for you and your family for months now. I personally have strong ties to China. I am of German heritage (I'm Caucasian) and have dual citizenship--American and Canadian--and my wife is Chinese. I speak Mandarin and have been doing business with the Chinese for 20 years. A this time, I believe God is using China to build a multipolar world to foster prosperity and encourage geopolitical balance. I also know that there are many Chinese who are coming to Christ and they are sharing the gospel among themselves--despite religious constraints.
My prayers are for your safety, continued blessing in business, and ongoing presentation of what is really going on in China.
best regards
