Astounding, large trade deficits for weight drugs that always carry side effects and a reduction in magnets needed in manufacturing to offset. Is that MAGA?
I am curious why there is such a demand for obesity drugs in the USA. Are more people participating in the dating game, getting married or other reasons?
I can't imagine myself paying that kind of money for pharmaceuticals unless I needed those drugs.
Propaganda is definitely noticeable on the American media outlets. (I agree).
I know that the Americans, on average, have more money than most other people in other countries; hence, they can buy whatever or run it up on their credit cards.
I am surprised that some Americans are paying those sticker prices for drugs to address obesity issues.
Most of them buy into the foolish American myth that they are the world standard in high quality and creativity, when in fact they are not the standard of anything except maybe weapons (highly debatable) and pornography, and even then they stole most of that from Germany and Japan. What leads from this is essentially to bolster the jingoism of American supremacy, while trashing most other foreign products - especially of China's - as inferior if not harmful.
One only needs to dig a little bit deeper and they shall reveal that almost all American products have always been crappy with shoddy workmanship, and most of their companies that were once dominant in their home market had all quickly disappeared when protectionist trade tariffs/duties/sanctions were eliminated and foreign products could enter America on fair or equal terms.
It is difficult for at least 50% of Americans to look at themselves in the mirror, i.e., for the country to take an honest look at itself and face basic inner truths and facts about themselves. First, Americans (and those living in allied countries) have to debunk the mythology that Americans are 'global peace enforcers' (when they are not - and quiet the opposite of that), they make high quality cars (nope, FORD stands for 'fix or repair daily'), etc.
Well said. The WSJ should have referenced their link as (Wall Street Journal, How Weight-Loss Drugs Blew Out the U.S. Trade Deficit) as:
Wall Street Journal, How Use of Overseas Tax Shelters' by the Weight-Loss Drugs Industry Blew Out the U.S. Trade Deficit.
The drugs are finished in those nations, but their trail goes world wide, even back into USA. The finishing is done overseas so that it is easier to over-invoice in order to move profits into tax sheltered areas. Another reason why GDP is such a horrible indicator of real economy vs. moving money around.

Maybe something to do with America having the highest number and percentage of obese and propagandized people in the world.
